Happy Wednesday!
Here is what we did today:
Math: We took a test today covering skills previously taught.
Science: Today we began discussing how energy moves in an ecosystem. No Homework!
Social Studies: Today we reviewed lessons 1 and 2 dealing with the Southern Colonies.
In Mrs. D's class we continued to work on our crossword puzzles for spelling and our books are due tomorrow. We continued to work on our poetry and we now have all of the notes that we need. The students should be working on writing their own poems and we will work on putting them into a book next.
In Mr. H's class we took a quiz over Snow Treasure. We had visit from Mrs. K dealing with Bullying. We also began a new book! Spelling book due tomorrow.
In Mr. P's class we drew 16 spelling pictures due on Friday. We took a pretest over the review words. We worked on the questions at the end of Pioneer Girl. We will have a quiz on Friday. We also discussed a writing activity dealing with propaganda that will be due sometime next week.

*Due to the nine weeks writing prompt and explorations we did not switch classes today.
Math: We will have a test tomorrow!
In Mrs. D's class we worked on our spelling workbook pages and we created crossword puzzles using twenty of our fifty words. We continued to work on our poetry today. We discussed similies, metaphors, Concrete poems and List Poems. They are doing a great job working on these peoms. I can't wait to read them and look at their books. We also had a visit from Mrs. K.dealing with honesty and we completed our writing prompts.
In Mr. H's class we concluded Snow Treasure and we will have a quiz tomorrow. We continued working on our spelling books and we took a pretest. In English we completed page 280 dealing with adjectives. We completed our writing prompt as well. We also had a visit from Mrs. K dealing with honesty

Math: Today we made Gallon Guys to help us remember how many quarts in a gallon, pints in a quart, cups in a pint. They turned out great!
Science: We discussed competition and symbiosis.
Social Studies: Today we looked at our state projects and discussed what we learned.
*This is our week of Explorations- Ask your child what they did today during that time!

Happy Friday!
Here is what we did today:
Math: Today we discussed units of Capacity. Problem set 85 was assigned and is due on Monday. We will have a test on Tuesday of next week.
Science: Today we took a quiz over chapter 5 lessons 1-2 and 3. Students then read lesson 4 to be ready to discuss on Monday!
Social Studies: Today we read and discussed lesson 1 of chapter 7 pages 232-237. Mr. H has been gone for the past two days so we hope this is what happened.
In Mrs. D's class we turned in our spelling books and took our spelling test. We continued our work with Poetry. We also worked on Synonyms and Antonyms.
In Mr. H's class we took a spelling test. We continued to read Snow Treasure chapters 24-26. We graded our spelling workbook pages. We completed page 278 in the old English book and did exercise A and B.
In Mr. P's class we read part 2 of Pioneer Girl. We also took our spelling test and graded our workbook pages. We did a review of Main versus Subordinate Clause activity. We also began brainstorming on what spring means to us.

Math: Today we worked on Mean, Median, Mode and Range. Ask your child the difference between these measures of central tendancy. Problem set 84 was assigned and is due on Friday.
Science: Today you reviewed lesson 1-2 and 3 of chapter 5. We completed a review sheet and will have a quiz tomorrow.
Social Studies: We took a test over chapter 6.

Math: We looked at geometric solids and worked on faces, edges and vertices. Problem set 83 was assigned and is due on Wednesday.
Science: Today we discussed water ecosystems. There will be a quiz over lessons 1-2-3 of chapter 5 on Friday.
Social Studies: We worked on page 229 doing the end of chapter 6 review questions 1-14 was assigned and is due tomorrow. We will have our test on Thursday.
In Mrs. D’s class we continued our work with poetry. The students will be reading lots of different poetry and they will also create their own books. Spelling workbook pages were assigned for unit 23 and we also worked on synonym and antonyms and main idea.
In Mr. H’s class we read chapters 18-19 in Snow Treasure. Spelling workbook unit 23 was assigned. We took a pretest as well. We also went to the library.
In Mr. P’s class we discussed the differences between main and subordinate clauses. We went to the computer lab. We also finished up out spelling from yesterday and we worked on spelling sentences.

Math: Today we continued our work with Greatest Common Factor. The students seem to be catching on to how this is used and how to do it! Problem set 82 was assigned and is due on Tuesday.
Science: We finished discussing Biomes and we watched some Brain Pop clips on the different Biomes. We have a worksheet over lesson 1 and 2 due tomorrow.
Social Studies: We read and discussed lesson 3 on pages 224-227 dealing with the Westward Movement.
In Mrs. D's class we began working on a unit in Poetry. We will be working on this for the next two weeks. We went to the computer lab and library. We also took a spelling pretest over unit 23 words.
In Mr. H' s class we continued reading in Snow Treasure chapters 17-18. We wrote our spelling words three times each. We read pages 250-254 in the old English book and page 274 parts ABC due tomorrow.

Science: We took a vocab test and we discussed four different biomes.
Social Studies: We discussed immigration past and present.
In Mrs. D's class we took our final spelling test. We did some Valentine activities dealing with prefixes, rhyming words and sentence structure. We also had a party.
In Mr. H's class we read chapters 15-16 in Snow Treasure. We reviewed adjectives and we took a spelling final test. We also had a February party as well.

Social Studies: We discussed lesson 2 pages 218-222 dealing with Ben Franklin and Philadelphia.
In Mrs. D's class we worked on our spelling book only pages 135-136 are due on Friday. We will have our final test on Friday. We also worked on Verbs and on our final copies of our Snow Day papers. We also went to the library.
In Mr. H's class we went to the library. We continued reading Snow Treasure. We worked on our spelling workbook pages due tomorrow. We will have a final test tomorrow. We also looked at page 242 suffixes and we also did a writing activity.

Science: Today we completed a KWL Chart on chapter 5 Ecosystems. We also completed the vocab words on page 123 due tomorrow. We will have a vocab test on Friday.
Social Studies: Today we discussed the impending snow storm and we also discussed the middle colonies through a video presentation.
In Mrs. D's class we took a spelling pretest over unit 22. We went to the library and the computer lab. We worked on verbs and we listened to the story Esperanza Rising.
In Mr. H's class we continued reading in Snow Treasure up to chapter 11. We looked at our spelling words and wrote them five times each. We discussed adjectives pages 240-241 A and B due tomorrow.

Science: We finished our review and played a Jeopardy type game. Test tomorrow.
Social Studies: We discussed what we read last night lessons 1 and 2 in chapter six.
In Mrs. D's class we went to the library. We will have a spelling test tomorrow and our books are due tomorrow. We read the story LaBamba in class and we answered some comprehension questions. We also worked on pronouns. Our final copies of our Snow Day stories are due on Monday.
In Mr. H's class we continued reading in Snow Treasure chapters 6-7 & 8. We continued with adjectives in the old book. We also had an in class writing activity. Spelling book due tomorrow and test tomorrow.

We began working on an SQ4R sheet for A Boy Called Slow. Spelling sentences, workbook and test are tomorrow. Vocab test tomorrow. We also went to the library.

Happy Wednesday!
We welcomed the student's back after two snow days!
Here is what we did today:
Math: Today we reviewed making equivalent fractions. BOB 79 was assigned and is due on Thursday. We also worked on our problem solving for the week due on Friday.
Science: Today we started going over our review sheet for our test on Friday. We should be studying for our test on Friday.
Social Studies: Today we looked at pages 210-222 dealing with the Middle Colonies and Philadelphia and Ben Franklin.
In Mrs. D's class we worked on vocabulary for our new story LaBamba. We worked on pronouns and we also worked on our editing our rough draft for our snow day stories. We will have spelling unit 21 this week and we will have on test on Friday and our workbook pages are due on Friday.
In Mr. H's class we will have our spelling unit 21 test on Friday and the workbook pages are due on Friday as well. We read in Snow Treasure up through chapter 5. We looked at adjectives for English.
In Mr. P's class we took a spelling pretest and looked at pages 128-131 & 133 in our spelling workbook due on Friday. We also wrote our words five times each. We finished our one on one conferencing with our writing. We began the vocab for the story A Boy Called Slow. Vocab test on Friday. We also began working with run on sentences and conjunctions.

Happy Friday! Happy Super Bowl!
Here is what we did today:
Math: We worked on Super Bowl math. This was a problem solving activity and they seemed to really enjoy themselves. So, Go Colts -- Go Bears!
Science: Today we concluded our discussion on plant growth. We worked on our review over the plant chapter and it is due on Monday. We will have a test on Tuesday.
Social Studies: Today we had a open book test over chapter 5 dealing with the New England Region.
In Mrs. D's class we took our spelling test over unit 20 words. We took our weekly DOL quiz and we worked on Pronouns. We also worked on the rough drafts of our Snow Day paper.
In Mr. H' s class we read chapter 2 in Snow Treasure. We took our spelling test over unit 20 words. We worked with adjectives pages 234-235 in the old textbooks. We put together our presentation binders as well.
In Mr. P's class we took a spelling test over unit 20 and we turned in our spelling books. We continued our one on one conferencing for writing. We discussed the differences between simple and compound sentences. We also had a visit from Mrs. K dealing with bullying.

Science: Today we graded our homework from yesterday and we discussed how and why plants grow. Test will be on Tuesday and a review sheet will be given tomorrow.
Social Studies: Today we read a follow-up to chapter number 5 in the old textbook pages 201-215.
In Mrs. D's class we went to the library. We turned in our spelling books and did an activity dealing with our spelling words. We also had a presentation from Mrs. K today dealing with bullying. Students are to be working on their rough drafts for our "Snow Day" paper.
